It's better than that.

Before Halloween we were cleaning the carpet in the living room. Not that it was dirty, but we had to clean it four times. Between Halloween and Thanksgiving the Boy Scout Popcorn came in ($3600 worth). That took up a major section of the living room.

Near as I can figure, the stereo got disconnected the week of 17 November(it's 20+ years old, no surround anyway). Once the popcorn was out of the way the tree went up.

The tree came down New Year's Day, the stereo is now back on-line, and the Xbox has been added to the fray. That would leave us about one and one half months with no stereo.

Yet, we survived.

Re-watched Batman Begins that day. It was more relaxing to watch on the couch, but the computer does have 5.1 surround (alas, not THX certified, but respectable).

You know, I’m all for celebrating the holidaze and all, with the decorations and the lights, and the stuff, but that’s a sacrifice far above what I’d be willing to make.

That just makes me want to watch How The Grinch Stole Dolby 5.1 again.

Watched Batman Begins on the computer, since the stereo has been disconnected for at least a month.

New Year’s Day tomorrow, means the tree can be put away and the stereo hooked back up.

Thagg said:

Refresh me on the dilation thingy. Does that affect the due date? Drawing a blank here.

BTW, youse guys are so prepared, it’s scary.

The way I understand the dilation bit is that they really don't start worrying about things until the cervix is 3-4cm dilated. Laura is at 2cm, and it could be a couple of weeks before labor begins, but it could also be sooner.

I have to credit Laura for the preparedness. She does "organized" much better than I.

Wanted to rent that last night, not in yet.

Watched Batman Begins on the computer, since the stereo has been disconnected for at least a month.

Thagg also asked:

First child?

No, there have been lots of children before. We were all children once.

WOMAN: Nervous?

STRIKER: Yes.

WOMAN: First time?

STRIKER: No, I've been nervous lots of times.

Thagg asked:

What the…?

It's a free service offered by most fire departments these days, and I can think of no reason I shouldn't take advantage of it.
