I’ve managed to complete a couple of collections of out-of-print books with judicious use of eBay.

eBay is evil, like the fruit of the devil.

Actually, you make a good point. I never think of eBay when it comes to books.

Volumes fourteen through sixteen have proven to be somewhat difficult to find, but I’d certainly like to complete the set eventually.

Sometimes I miss the blindingly obvious, so forgive me if I'm telling you something you already know, but I've managed to complete a couple of collections of out-of-print books with judicious use of eBay.

I trust you’re speaking about George R.R. Martin’s “the books” and not “the books” in general. Sci-fi and fantasy ain’t everybody’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely mine.

Correct you are, sir.

Sci-fi and Fantasy generally on my list of books to read. I have read several, the latest being Accelerando, which I enjoyed very much

I’m not a fan of the books, BTW. Nothing against them, mind you. Just haven’t ever read one.

Once upon a time, I was a member of the Science-Fiction Book Club

Chuh,

For years I would get mailings from said club addressed to a 'K Johnson'. Nobody in the house is a 'K'. I even moved several times to no avail (Ok, I was moving anyway, but still).

I think they finally gave up a year ago.

Don't join again, think of the trees. Think of the wasted man-hours it takes for them to process and the money they waste sending this crap to me. Oh, the humanity!

I'm not a fan of the books, BTW. Nothing against them, mind you. Just haven't ever read one.

Most of the time when I mention the Wild Cards series, I get nothing but blank stares. I figured somebody out there had to be reading them besides me!

Wonderful books, all of them. I, too, am a big fan of the Wild Cards. And the Ice and Fire books are on part with Tolkien, IMHO. If you liked the Game, wait until you read the next few books. Plot turns, twists and fun are just the beginning.
