Hmmm.

Maybe if I had phrased it in the form of a question…

It was not intended as an insult.

Merry Christmas to all type II parents in our viewing area.

Going, Going, Gone…

In my experience, it would have been easier both short and long term to simply train the boy not to touch.

In my experience, there are two types of parents:

Those who appreciate unsolicited "advice" that implies their parenting methods are inferior, and

Those who do not.

Guess which type I am.

Um, write a book if you figure out how to get a t-minus 2 year old to not touch something and I’ll buy it.

Already exists.

To Train Up A Child by the Pearls.

Sample Articles

Warning: Not for wimps but their methods work, if you dare. The end result is... relaxing.

I scooped him up, plunked him down in the Pack-n-Play and spent an hour and a half wrestling with the tangle of cables necessary to connect the various components to one another. The end result: Kyle will not be able to reach the Xbox until he is able to stand; the remaining components will remain out of his range until he is five or six years old.

In my experience, it would have been easier both short and long term to simply train the boy not to touch.

There was an unfortunate incident involving rather a lot of vomit and my cornflower-blue shirt last week.

You too?

Sunday night, 0200 I awoke to something in the bathroom. It was our Middlest Broodling, on his haunches, staring at the toilet. He had made it to the bathroom, to the toilet, tossed his cookies, then realized the lid was down.

At 0300 I got to take a nice, hot shower and head back to bed.
