No breading? I've said it before, I'll say it again: the breading is a sauce-containment matrix. Without breading, the chicken cannot possibly transport the appropriate dose of sauce to your mouth.
I'll agree here, KJ; in your configuration, the breading for the chicken is essential to deliver the correct shot of sauce to your palate.

However, this is true for your configuration due to the lack of veggies. Veggies act in a secondary sauce-delivery role. I don't know if gator ends up with the correct amount of fiery goodness when he orders sans breading, but I can assure you that the veggies do serve a purpose.

Tofu by itself can absorb quite a bit of the General's peppery liquid-fire all on it's own... Then, lump in the peppers and onions my local place adds to the dish, and I can't understand how my Lovely Wife(tm) can stand it.

Ah! KJ is a fan of General Tso as well... Excellent! Do you prefer your chicken a) zippy (mildest of the adjectives), b) spicy, c) laser, or d) bathed in a nuclear fire?
I think I'll go with "b) spicy". I order my General Tso's without vegetables (I'm not a fan of the green pepper) and with an eggroll on the side. Now and then, I order it extra spicy, but I've learned that there really isn't an established spiciness baseline at China Express, so today's default spicy is often equivalent to tomorrow's extra spicy.

Oh yeah - how's Laura feeling these days? Sorry to read she was so afflicted. Here's to her (and the Young Apprentice's) health!
Laura is recovering nicely from what will surely be recalled in years to come as the Worst Birthday Ever. I think we'll be paying much closer attention to the expiration date on our eggs from now on.

This is a fundamental problem with our society today; no standards. Personally, I make it a point not to frequent the places where they like to surprise my little tribe with /any/ aspect of their dishes.

My Lovely Wife(tm) and I have found a specific Chinese restaurant here in town where the cooks and wait staff know what we mean when we say "Laser, please!"

Suzanne (my Lovely Wife(tm))is a strict vegetarian, so it's tofu and veggies for her all stir-fried up in a sauce that could re-write the DNA of lesser gourmands...

I, not wanting rebellion on the part of my gastro-intestinal flora and fauna, tend to go with "spicy" myself.

I've really enjoyed The Riches as well - but then, I'm a huge Izzard fan. The actors playing his children are really good, too.

Haven't seen any episodes of Raines as yet. I'm going to try squirreling into my neighbor's TiVo and evoke the eps thru the ether onto my laptop's harddriv - uh - I may have typed too much...

Your vampire-hunting heritage clearly gives you a predilection to the spicier foods (living in the moment and all that), however each generation has their own preferences and styles.
What was the documentary about? Was it about vampire hunters?

I really liked Raines too. I started a thread on the geeklabel forums about it... not sure if you post there.
I haven't checked out the Geeklabel forums yet, but I do have my very cool Harping Monkey hoodie from Geeklabel and I'll be posting some pictures soon.

As for the documentary, it isn't about vampire hunters as it is about Finnish-Americans living in and around my home town, Toivola, Michigan.
