Choose whichever comment you like: least offensive, most offensive, whatever works for you.

Comment A.
You old softie, you. Heavy emphasis on the "old," "soft," and "ie."

Comment B.
Me: Tell me when, exactly.
You: When what?
Me: When you got your first period, Mrs. Johnson.*

*This bit of sparkling repartee shamelessly cribbed from comedian Jim Norton, who uses this bit regularly on the Opie & Anthony show.

Does that change the fact I'm not a fan of some of their business practices? Not at all.

I've never been saddled with extra charges and they've always been very responsive on the customer service front. I did encounter one CSR that, while certainly responsive, didn't seem to be the sharpest dart on the board, but that was the exception to the rule.

Well, almost. This whole dish relocation would likely be unnecessary if the installer had done what I asked him to do in the first place, namely install the dish as close to the roof as possible. Instead, he installed it about seven feet up on the southeast corner of the house. Perhaps he just didn't have a long enough ladder to do what I wanted him to.

I did find it interesting that a dish relocation was roughly thirty dollars cheaper than a service call.

Interesting, it seems that I, too, need to relocate my dish due to Mother Nature's insidious feature creep.

However, as this coincides with the time that I will be hopefully obtaining a high-def DVR, which I think requires a different dish anyway, it's not much of a problem.

And the internet changes the world in yet another way. It certainly is off-putting, and it's hard to know how to react. With caution, I guess. Personally, I've had more issues with DirecTV than I ever had with Comcast - I used Comcast when I lived in CT and all was well. When we moved to Colorado, no cable was available, and we had to get DirecTV. After a few months, they added on a super sports package without telling us, and we didn't catch the extra charges for a couple months. When we tried to cancel, not only would they not retroactively refund the charges, they wanted to charge us $150 to drop the sports package. We don't use DirecTV anymore. Maybe if they twittered me...

No way, to hell with a "face" making you back down from your beliefs and the truth. And to hell with Comcast. You are right, they are the Media Devil, and they have worked very hard to get that way. Scott is creepy, really creepy. Companies that do that sort of thing are trying so hard it is obvious how awful they know they are.
