@Chris — I felt like I was being dragged into someone else's Geek Zone, actually. Not kicking and screaming, mind you, I enjoyed it. And we did occasionally veer into my own Geek Zone, discussing the technology behind the blogs, specifically dealing with some of WordPress' sometimes over-helpful features and whether or not WordPressMU would be valuable to a blog co-op.

I'm glad you went to this. I do not know the rest of the folks, but I know George and Jess Hess, and they're Good People. One of the reason I enjoyed the meetups (when Cathy's schedule did not conflict and I could attend), wasthe very thing yu mentioned, being dragged out of the Geek Zone in into a new realm of discussion topics.

@David Mead — It was a good time, yes, and a very talkative group, so there really wasn't too much prying required on George's part. We didn't get to my question before 9:45 rolled around and people started to leave, which is probably just as well.

Sounded like you had a good time.

I've never attended one of these (though I did blog within Cleveland city limits) but I did work with George at Optiem. He's a good facilitator of these kind of things and always seems to pry some nice conversations out of people.
