I played a bit of Far Cry Instincts on my brother’s Xbox before I bought it for the PC, and it was the console version that convinced me to purchase the PC version, so I can’t really say anything bad about it.

Once you're done, you've got to check out the two episodes, as they've got much more concentrated story content. The end of episode 2 made me want to cry - amazing voice acting combined with outstanding character model animation. The PC Far Cry is great, but I've heard the console versions are not. Of course, it sounds like you may have already played the PC version. I'm writing an article for Lungfishopolis comparing Far Cry to Crysis, as there's a lot of similarity.
